YIN YOGA, MEDITATION AND SOUND BATH ONLINE

A two hour online event utilising Yin Yoga Asana, Yin Pranayama and Mantra as tools from which to approach and embrace seated Meditation.

In cultivating a capacity for stillness and placing importance on being connected to the body, we can perceive the infinite sensations that can happen within it. We can be more open to experiencing ourselves as flow.

After a short introduction to clarify what we will be doing throughout our time together., there will be an hour of Yin Asana to open the parts of the body where we can feel stuck and to move sequentially though the backbone. We will explore spreading the breath through the body and spine, using a mantra as a tool to concentrate the mind, fine tune our senses and sensitivity.

We will sit for around 20 minutes moving awareness through the spine, lingering at places of great potential change as we retrace the path of our asana practice through the backbone. Using Mantra and Yin Pranayama to hold our attention and to focus our efforts, this sitting practice we will be accompanied by the sounds of Crystal Bowls.

We will then relax our efforts for a 20 minute Gong Bath before resting in silence allowing the time and space to feel the body as being an open and infinite space able to expand in all directions.

Because of the nature of this event, it is suggested that practitioners should have experience in Yin Yoga and as always, a willingness and curiosity to not rest on what we do know but open to exploring what we do not.

Rooted in the potency of simplicity, our practice allows a subtle movement in perception, where we have the potential to open a door to another kind of reality, a spaciousness we can sense when the body, mind and breath are at ease where we can open to the energetic life of the body that moves through us and around us.

Learning to listen, to feel and to follow those subtle movements underneath layers of skin and muscle into the very core of the body, allowing each breath, sensation, feeling and sound that fills our own space to gradually bring us back into our bodies, into our lives where new doors can open and where new directions and possibilities are revealed.
