Follow the Ox Meditation
This meditation focuses on the feeling of breathing inside an alert, receptive, and calm abdomen. The breath flows naturally, without any manipulation and the focus rests gently inside the belly that is feeling breathing. The effort is to notice how natural breathing affects our experience of the inner body and to feel the effects of that quietude.
The Ox describes not only the muscular wall of the lower abdomen, but also a constant, quiet presence that holds the background of everything and so, how we can learn to engage with that presence for ourselves.
